Protein booster help needed

I talked to Dr. D last week about protein level and it appears that I am not getting enough. I started adding Ultra Meal between bigger meals to boost the protein level but my stomach does not like it. If I am lactose intolerant, will I also not process whey products well? I made a smoothie using 50% hemp protein this morning and I have no problem with hemp. Do I just need to add more smaller meals and make sure I have meat protein with them (I really don't like eggs, so hard boiled eggs will not be a staple)? What about lentils and beans (adzuki, etc.)?

It's getting easier

Pretty much in a good routine now of cooking and being prepared with my allowed foods. Cravings are not physical anymore but still battling the mental part. I had identified some of my cravings as a feeling of needing to fill a void of frustration or unsatisfaction. If I didn't feel like my day was satisfying, I would try to fill the evening with food that I found satisfying (usually comfort foods that are not good for me) and despite being "comfort foods" they made me feel worse. Still lots of work to do on this part of the equation!

Citrus Dressing modification

I am not a fan of olive oil so my friend, Charlotte Layne (also a colon hydrotherapist) suggested altering it with grapeseed oil instead of olive oil. She also suggested using orange juice instead of grapefruit juice for a sweeter version. I made these adjustments and totally love the new dressing. I like to just drizzle it on raw veggies like tomatoes, cauliflower, etc. Dr. D, thanks again for great recipes to start from.

READING LABELS IS A MUST!

I bought minced garlic at Sprouts (in the produce section, implying freshness) and didn't read the label until I got home and opened the jar. Guess what they packed the garlic in....Partially hydrogenated soybean oil!!!!! What horror! I can't wait until my own garlic is ready to harvest again this year. I will make sure I work it up this year and put in the freezer.

Recipe Makeover Question

Is it OK to use Cornstarch or should I be looking at another substitute as a thickener to makeover my recipes. I have a luscious asparagus & cashew recipe that I want to share but I need to write up the makeover first.
